This course has been specifically designed to provide a combination of theory and hands-on practical training to include:
Ultrasound settings, probes, and scanning techniques.
Lung ultrasound scoring systems and surfactant administration.
Differentiating RDS and transient tachypnoea using ultrasound.
Diagnosis of pneumothorax, pleural effusion, and other neonatal respiratory conditions.
Pathological artefacts and interpretation of common neonatal lung pathologies.
Clinical application of lung ultrasound scores in neonatal practice.
Use of lung US to diagnose and predict BPD/CLD.
Workshops:
Normal lung ultrasound and RDS scoring- on simulator.
Recognition of consolidation, pneumothorax, effusion, and TTN- on simulator.
Live scanning with volunteers.
Case discussions, video interpretation, and structured reporting.
