Sophie Burgess
Lead Neonatal Psychologist
I have been working as a Clinical Psychologist for over 14 years. Throughout my career I have been dedicated to working in healthcare settings and I have an extensive background working in paediatric psychology.
I am also a trained Family and Systemic Psychotherapist and my passion lies with using systemic principles and adopting a strengths-based approach to work with families, staff teams, and broader healthcare systems.
Within my network role, I am keen to further the development of psychologically informed neonatal services in which trauma-informed and compassion focused practice are key principles at the heart of neonatal care.
I am also passionate about working with and supporting the continuing professional development of psychological professionals working in neonatal psychology and working to promote and expand the neonatal psychology workforce across the West Midlands.
Outside of work I am usually racing around after my young children and, in any spare time enjoy being in the great outdoors with the family and our beloved Cairn Terrier Dennis.
