Tiny Lungs Big Challenges

Tiny Lungs Big Challenges
Tiny lungs, Big Challenges is a 6-Part Virtual Series for those working on a Neonatal Unit, or a Paediatric Intensive Care Unit that looks after neonates.
This live, interactive series is designed for physiotherapists and open to all healthcare professionals working with neonates. Across six sessions, we will explore the unique anatomy and physiology of preterm lungs, why preterm infants are not simply "small babies," and the complexities of supporting fragile respiratory systems in the neonatal unit.
Topics include supporting ventilation, optimising respiratory function, and physiotherapy techniques to manage secretions safely and effectively. We will also review traditional approaches that are now less widely used, highlighting the latest evidence-based practices. The series concludes with practical considerations for managing neonates with complex respiratory needs, including those on paediatric intensive care.
Each session is delivered live with opportunities for discussion, and recordings will be available afterwards for flexible learning.
