What is Placenta Accreta Spectrum?

Placenta Accreta Spectrum (PAS) is a condition where the placenta attaches too deeply into the wall of the womb. It is usually identified during pregnancy using specialist scans. This video clearly explains PAS and guides you through the journey from early pregnancy through to birth, helping you understand what to expect at each stage.

If PAS is suspected, your care will be planned by a specialist team who will support you throughout your pregnancy and delivery. This often includes extra appointments and a planned caesarean birth in a specialist centre to keep you and your baby safe. You will be involved in all decisions about your care and given opportunities to ask questions, with support available every step of the way.
